Marcus Ahern has practiced law in Western Australia in the areas of commercial litigation and commercial law and debt recovery for over twenty years. He graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Laws in 1987.

His clients include financial institutions, a range of companies and businesses of all sizes and individuals who require advice and representation on contract disputes and debt recovery.  He has specialised in contract disputes, commercial litigation and debt recovery for 20 years in the Federal Court, Supreme Court, District Court and Magistrates Court.  He also specialises in building and construction cases including mediation and arbitration.

After working in the Perth office of Freehills, one of Australia's largest law firms and later becoming a partner in a medium sized law firm Marcus Ahern decided to set up his own practice in order to achieve significant cost savings which are then able to be passed on to his clients.

Marcus has served on the board of the Chamber of Commerce and has served as Chairman of the Commerce & Industry Division. He has also acted as the WA State Director of a National Debt Collection Agency and is a member of the Law Society of Western Australia.

Marcus has a particular interest in sports law having had a strong involvement in Australian Rules Football. Marcus has represented football players and clubs in a range of matters including court cases, contract negotiations and disputes and general advice and representation. He has acted as chairman for several football review committees and was chairman of the Save WA Football lobby group, comprising prominent former players, coaches and media personalities in lobbying for reforms to the administration of the sport in Western Australia. He currently acts as the solicitor for a number of players, coaches and clubs in the AFL and in the WAFL. He has also acted in cases involving cricket and horse racing.
